Kamon Katagami #2
A packet of 26 antique (probably late 19th century) hand cut katagami stencils used for dyeing kamon family crests on formal kimono and jackets. These are made from used washi paper that has been treated with persimmon tannin to prevent rotting, and measure approx. 5cm x 6cm. They may be suitable for gentle use as stencils but I don’t guarantee their sturdiness! I’ve selected these from a collection that came to me sorted into small paper packets. I’m sending this selection in one of the original packets.
