Anchor and Rope Katazome Mat
I've seen a similar one with the same motif sold as a bath mat, but I'm not 100% sure so I'll just call it a mat. Indigo katazome stencil resist-dyed., Approx 59cm x 67cm. You also get katazome anchors and ropes together or separately on trousseau futon covers and this has most likely been remade from an old futon cover. I like to think the rope symbolism was intentionally funny!? The stitching joining the fabric panels is probably original from a futon cover. It's been tied with black thread to hold the layers together Late 19th - early 20th century.
