{"product_id":"antique-sashiko-sodenashi-vest-copy","title":"Antique Sashiko Sodenashi Vest","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis sodenashi ('no sleeves') farmer's work vest is from the Shonai region of Yamagata prefecture in northern Japan.    It's a wonderful example of the original use of sashiko to quilt layers of fabric together for strength, warmth and durability.   The dense lines of sashiko create a sturdy leathery character. The zigzag pattern of alternately patches of vertical and horizontal stitching is typical of Shonai sashiko.
