Antique Wool Muslin Kimono

This type of light weight wool is called 'mosu' ( short for muslin) and we usually see it on children's kimonos and undergarments so this woman's kimono is a little unusual.  It's also unusual for wool this age to be in such condition. The black and white basket weave pattern is very striking.  This has been an everyday kimono and so is shorter  than the formal kimonos that come through the shop and has a narrow collar. The white cotton lining has some marks.  I think this would fit up to about a size 12. Measurements are with the photos.   Early - mid 20th century
