This is a traditional style of bag made from a single length of folded and stitched fabric. The triangular 'horns' that give it its name can be tied like a furoshiki to create a handle. Because the material is on the bias it has quite a bit of stretch. These types of bags were often used for storing and carrying grain etc and so were made from a sturdy bast fibres. This one is hemp. The colour is a darker hessian/straw colour than it looks in the photos. It's in good condition with a small stain on one side. It measures 35cm x 110cm. Early - mid 20th century.
