Indigo Shibori Bolt
This is a full bolt of hand-dyed indigo cotton shibori from the Arimatsu and Narumi areas of Nagoya - a centre for shibori dyeing in Japan since the early 17th century. It measures 36 cm x 12 m and is a lightweight yukata fabric with an unusually simple and effective basket weave design. Probably not colourfast but some vinegar in the rinse might help. Late 20th century - or maybe even a bit newer.
