Jun'ichi Nakahara Doll Pattern Booklet
Juni'ichi Nakahara was a popular graphic designer, illustrator, publisher and fashion designer who was working from the 1920's well into the post-war years. His style was clearly influential on the development of wide-eyed, kawaii manga and anime illustrations in later years. Among all his other talents he designed western and Japanese style dolls. This booklet was an insert in one of his 'Shojo no Tomo ' (Young girl's friend') magazine from 1934. The title is 'O Ningyo Cho ' ( Doll Book) There are patterns for 'Pollyanna' and three other dolls. The colour illustrations have been loosely pasted in. It measures 13cm x 21.5cm . There are 8 double-sided pages included three that open out. Vintage charm!
