Lacquered Netsuke of Woman in Kimono

This is a tiny  negoro lacquered wood netsuke in the design of a woman wearing a  kosode kimono with  rich pine tree designs.  Negoro is a style of lacquer in which  the top layer of lacquer wears through to  reveal patches of black  underneath. The top layer here is more burnt orange than the typical red.  This is very tiny - just over 5cm high and has a lovely antique patina. 19th century
