Vintage Kimono Fabric
This looks and feels like silk and has a lovely drape but is actually a synthetic 'artificial silk' - which Japan made lots of in the early - mid 20th century. This may have been for a girl 's formal kimono but it is very light weight and may also have been for a woman's juban undergarment which were always very bright back then. Lots of colourful traditional motifs in a diagonal check pattern. 35cm x 6 metres - unused and still cheery, fresh and pretty. Mid 20th century.
