Katazome Zabuton Cushions

Set of four traditional  cotton zabuton floor cushions.  I don't know when these might have been made but the fabric is early 20th century.  The green/indigo  base fabric is unevenly faded but the katazome  (stencil resist dyed) panels are in excellent condition. The chrysanthemum and karagusa ( 'Chinese grass' arabesque) designs were common on quite  expensive futon cover fabrics.   The wadding will be cotton wata and they're all in good sturdy condition. They're approximately 50cm x 42cm x 5cm but as you can see from the photos the dimensions vary a little - which adds to their character!
