Komebukuro drawstring bags were traditionally used to take offerings of rice or dried beans to temples or shrines . This example is made from remnants of old household textiles which look to be from around the 1960s. The lining is made from an old flour or grain bag. There is one small hole. The loops and string cord are all intact. It is 28 cm high and the base is 26 cm x 26cm.
