Niko-Niko Kasuri

Five metres of as-new niko-niko kasuri from the roll. Niko-niko is a  machine  woven  kasuri (ikat) that  was  especially popular for  boys' kimonos in the 1930's . Niko-niko means smiley,  I'm not sure how it got that name other than it was often used for children's clothing.  This piece is 100% cotton and 33.5cm wide.  It's rare  to see niko-niko unused and in as-new condition.  It's a light weight cotton (similar feel to linen) and suitable for quilting or clothing.
