Old Cotton Kimono Threads

A box of small cotton threads.  These are unused in their original box but have faded and discoloured with age.  The box  is labeled' Daifuku Ito  ('Great Happiness Thread') -  silk substitute'   The label on the individual balls says 'best cotton'. I tested a tiny piece and it is cotton.  Each ball is about 3.5cm in diameter.  Early - mid 20th century.
