Daruma Japanese Art and Antiques Magazine Bundle
Old stock from my shop. I used to sell these wonderful magazines back when I sold a wider range of antiques at Wafu Works. Daruma was published in Japan in English from 1993 to 2011. It featured collectors talking about their sometimes obscure passions, which was always fascinating. There were also regular columns on prints, ikebana, haiku and tea ceremony. Lots of colour photos. I certainly learnt a lot from Daruma over the years and still keep a full set for reference.
This is a bundle of 16 random issues (Numbers 16, 25 ,32, 40, 42, 44, 46, 49, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 59, 62, 63) and covers subjects including iki-ningyo dolls, hagoita, mechanical toys and dolls, netsuke, lanterns, farmhouses, sword fittings, jingasa helmets, cosmetic tools, etc etc. Textiles subjects covered are hand-painted banners, obi, kurume-gasuri, embroidery, uchishiki altar cloths, and ako dantsu rugs. A treat for any Japanophile!
