Antique Boro Selection

Three antique indigo cotton boro remnants from old futon covers. They're all approximately 35cm wide and the shortest piece is 90cm long. 

Old worn and damaged futon covers that come through the shop are often only partially patched or just as often not repaired at all. As the repairs are usually on the wrong side of the cover, they often appear hastily done with large stitches and are often reinforcing worn fabric rather than holes. These remnants from three different futon covers show something of the character of three women's patching styles.   Early - mid 20th century.
