Chacopy Chalk Paper
Single- sided white chacopy chalk transfer paper from Japan. 5 sheets each 30 x 25cm .
This is my favourite way to transfer designs onto antique indigo cotton for sashiko and is what I use for the panels I sell in the shop. For different fabric test first to make sure you're getting a clear line, and also that it will sponge off with water. To use, simply make a photocopy of the design you want to transfer, position it on your fabric then slide a sheet of chacopy chalk side down under the photocopy and secure with pins or tape (washi tape is perfect). Then go over the designs with a ball point pen. Do a test first to make sure you're pressing hard enough to get a good clear line. It helps to have a slightly soft surface such as a regular green cutting board underneath. You might need to touch up with a chalk pencil as you're working. Sheets can be re-used a number of times.
