Meiji Period Uchishiki Altar Cloth

This vibrant  bold  brocade uchishiki altar cloth measures 130cm x 130cm.  It has  quite a lot of  wear and has been wet at some point and the red dye has run, but  would  still be a stunning display piece (preferably out of the sun!) 

These cloths were  usually donated to temples  with details recorded on the back.  There is no individual name  on this one but the date is May of Meiji 15 (1882). My best effort in reading the main inscription is that it was given to honour the 16th century Honganji monk and sect leader Kennyo. (Buddhist items are difficult to research, please correct me if you can!)
