Handpainted Zuan Design (4)

Mid - 20th century  original  obi fabric design hand painted on paper.  32cm x 42.5cm .  This will have been stored most of its life in the makers'  archive and  the colours are still fresh and vibrant.  The contrasting coral and aqua give it a modern feel. The design has a mix of Japanese and western floral and bird  motifs, organised in a  variation of a traditional pine bark diamond  pattern.
