Iyo-gasuri Indigo Cotton Bolt

An 11.37m unused bolt of  kimono cotton. 36cm wide.   Iyo-gasuri is a traditonal kasuri (ikat) from Matsuyama in Ehime prefecture. Iyo is the old name for Ehime. This is a fairly heavy weight fabric and very stiff.  Perfect for place mats, bags etc though it will eventually soften up for clothing.  Mid- late 20th century.
