Sarashi Cotton for Sashiko
Regular price
$9.50

Stitching sashiko hanafukin cloths has been very popular in recent years. If you'd prefer to create your own designs rather than stitching pre-printed panels you need some sarashi. As well as hanafukin, sarashi has traditionally been used for tenugui hand towels, fundoshi loin cloths and also for binding breasts and pregnant tummies! I also see it as partial linings in old kimonos. It's a bleached white cotton with a soft loose weave that can be dyed and is also suitable for other slow stitch projects as well as sashiko. 35.5cm wide. Price is per metre.
Price includes GST and regular postage within Australia.
